We were on our walk and ran across these two insect "shells." Evidently, it was time to shed the shells, so they grabbed on to the tree near each other and did their thing. I know this may be a little gross, but it is also interesting and even somewhat beautiful that they wanted to be next to each other.
I'm always fascinated when I see lost shoes outside. I wonder how they came to be lost. Did they fall out of someone's gym bag? Were they too small and thrown out? Were they broken? It's not real easy to lose a shoe so it just always makes me curious when I see a stray or two.
Honestly, is this really necessary? Do mannequins have to have obviously erect nipples? Is it not enough to make the shapes of breasts to signify it is a lady or pecs to signify it is a man mannequin? Do mannequins need nipples at all? I know I would shy away from purchasing this shirt. Seems a little too thin to me. And I would not want to even risk the chance of being cold while wearing it.I ran across this nippy mannequin in Academy while looking for a canopy to put up above my art booth next weekend. I ended up getting one that I absolutely love at Sports Authority (not because of this mannequin, but because they had what I was looking for at the right price).
We found another lost glove. This one was gone the next day (I suspect the street cleaner machine picked it up as this one was actually in the street, right next to the curb.) Incidentally, the other lost glove I took a picture of and showed you is still there. It has been flipped over and no longer looks angry, just really flat and dirty.
This bird is what I'd call a crane (not sure if that is what he is or not, but I'm calling him a crane). We discovered him on one of our walks when we went down by the water and he squawked when we neared him. We must have been too close for his comfort because he flew off. I think he must nest in or around the tree he is in as we've seen him around several times when we've walked by that area.

We also ran across this beautiful butterfly on our walk yesterday. Luckily for me, it was very engrossed in "eating" so it didn't pay much attention to us and I was able to get some good pictures of it. Made my day!

We ran across this cute little squirrel on our walk yesterday morning. Sorry the pictures aren't totally in focus, but when dealing with anything that moves, I just keep snapping as fast as I can before the chance to take any pictures is gone for good. This little guy came down the tree towards a little hollowed out spot and crawled in it. He put his head back out to look around (I guess to make sure no one else was following him? Or to make sure we hadn't come any closer?). He must have decided it was okay because he came out of that hidey hole with a big nut and headed back up into the tree with it. I loved it!!!

I've got quite a bit to get to today, so wanted to post a few pics before I got too busy. I really love clouds, love the different variety, shapes, and their movement across the sky. I can't get enough of them, which is why I keep showing you pictures of clouds! 
Because you've been so patient through my family pictures, I thought it was time to show you yet another mushroom Brownie and I ran across on our walk here in town a few weeks ago. It caught my eye and, like many of the other mushrooms we've seen, I couldn't look away. This one was the size of a small frisbee (or a big saucer if you don't know how big a small frisbee is). Love the way it snakes out of the log and curves up. I also love how it is relatively flat and smooth on top. Very interesting....and also beautiful? 
Leaving is always the hard part, but it is just nice to have been home! Brownie is usually pretty tired on the way back and just wants to snuggle with us (she sleeps in the garage when we visit and we all miss our snuggling). She drapes herself across both our laps while we drive and every so often, breathes a deep contented sigh. I think I do, too.
